About Sodium Laureth Sulfate
Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES) is an anionic surfactant made by sulfating ethoxylated lauryl alcohol. It is milder than sodium lauryl sulfate and gives good foam and viscosity response.
Uses and applications
Personal care
Used as a main foaming surfactant in shampoos, body washes and hand wash.
Household
Used in dishwashing liquids and household cleaners.
Industrial
Used as an emulsifier and wetting agent, including in emulsion polymerisation.
