About Formic Acid
Formic Acid is the simplest carboxylic acid, a clear, strongly acidic liquid with a pungent odour. It is supplied in several concentrations, commonly 85% and 94%.
Uses and applications
Animal feed and agriculture
Used to preserve silage and as an acidifier and antibacterial additive in animal feed.
Leather and textiles
Used for pH adjustment in tanning and as a dye-bath acid in textile processing.
Industrial
Used as a descaler, in rubber and coagulation processes, and as an intermediate in chemical manufacturing.
