About Linear Alkylbenzene Sulfonic Acid
Linear Alkylbenzene Sulfonic Acid (LABSA) is a widely used anionic surfactant precursor. It is neutralised with caustic soda or soda ash to give sodium dodecylbenzene sulfonate for powders and liquids.
Uses and applications
Laundry detergents
Neutralised in situ to form the main cleaning surfactant in powders and liquid detergents.
Household and industrial cleaners
Used in dishwashing liquids, floor cleaners and degreasers.
Other industries
Used as an emulsifier and wetting agent in agrochemical and industrial formulations.
