About Rosin Resin
Rosin Resin (gum rosin) is a natural resin obtained from pine trees. It is brittle and glassy, and is graded by colour (such as WW, WG and X).
Uses and applications
Adhesives
Used as a tackifier in hot-melt and pressure-sensitive adhesives and in sealants.
Paper sizing
Used in rosin size emulsions that make paper water-resistant.
Inks and coatings
Used in printing inks, varnishes and coatings, often as modified rosin esters.
