About Propylene Glycol
Propylene Glycol (PG) is a colourless, viscous liquid that mixes with water. It is a humectant, solvent and antifreeze with low toxicity in USP and food grades.
Uses and applications
Food and flavour
Used as a carrier for flavours and colours and as a humectant in baked goods and confectionery.
Pharmaceutical and cosmetics
Used as a solvent and moisturiser in medicines, creams, lotions and oral care.
Industrial
Used in antifreeze and coolants, unsaturated polyester resins and de-icing fluids.
