About Sodium 4-styrenesulfonate
Sodium 4-Styrenesulfonate is a water-soluble vinyl monomer containing a sulfonate group. It is polymerised to give sulfonated polymers and copolymers.
Uses and applications
Polymer synthesis
Used to make polystyrene sulfonate polymers, ion-exchange resins and dispersants.
Concrete admixtures
Used in superplasticiser and dispersant polymers for concrete.
Water treatment
Used in copolymers for scale inhibition and dispersion.
