About Xylitol

Xylitol is a sugar alcohol with a sweetness similar to sucrose and a cooling effect in the mouth. It is made from xylan-rich plant material such as corn cobs or birch.

Uses and applications

Confectionery

Used in sugar-free chewing gum, mints and candy.

Oral care

Used in toothpaste and mouthwash as a sweetener.

Pharmaceutical

Used in syrups and chewable tablets.
